RE: Weekly Memo
Meetings for the Week of November 27, 2006
Planning Board Site Walk Tues., Nov. 28, 3:00 pm, City Hall
As has been the tradition, the upcoming Maine Turnpike Authority/Maine Department of Transportation workshop with City Council and Water District Trustees has been postponed at the request of the MTA. For those not following closely, this workshop has been scheduled and postponed several times already. The purpose of the workshop is to receive a briefing concerning the proposed service area at the confluence of I 95 and I 295. The project is of a scale that public utilities are desirable and wastewater/water services will be requested. A new date will be set when the MTA feels confident they are ready.
With this change in meeting agenda coming so late, there is little hope of composing a new slate of agenda items. Although our December is looking very busy, I advise that we rest up on November 29 to be refreshed for some full agendas. Council agendas look substantial for December 6 and 13.
Happy Thanksgiving to all employees, volunteers, board, committee and commission members, appointed and elected officials. We have much to be thankful for in Gardiner and I urge all of us to reflect upon our good fortunes and provide a helping hand to those not so fortunate as we may be.
