Kennebec River update
The National Weather Service will most likely put out a flood watch later today.  The Kennebec River is forecasted to be at 11.6 feet this afternoon, just below flood stage. The National Weather Service “Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service” also shows the river going up this afternoon.  In all likelihood the Coast Guard cutters should be in Gardiner by tomorrow. Please keep in mind that there still is an ice jam in Farmingdale.

Be aware of potential flooding or ice jams. There are several websites that send out automatic alerts to subscribers:

The Nixle alert system at www.nixle.com
