GARDINER PUBLIC LIBRARY
Children’s Room Grand Opening
The Gardiner Public Library will be closed on Wednesday, June 4th and Thursday, June 5, 2008 so that the staff can set up the newly restored Children’s Room. The library is pleased to announce that the grand opening of this beautifully renovated Children’s Room is scheduled for Saturday, June 7th from 9:30am-12:30pm.
Door prizes will be awarded to the first 100 children to attend the grand opening (limited to ages newborn – 14-year olds). Plan on visiting the library to view the newly restored Rosetta stained-glass window, the newly polished wood floors and the gorgeous beams and woodwork that have not been seen in over 35 years!
This restoration project received the 2008 Statewide Historic Preservation Honor Award for Excellence in Restoration from Maine Preservation. It is also the completed phase one project of a 3–year renovation plan to restore the interior of the entire building. This project was completed with grants from the New Century Community Program, donations from local businesses and pledges from our community members. If you are interested in making a donation towards our future renovation plans please contact the Gardiner Library Association at

This is a free event and it is open to the public.
