REQUEST FOR BIDS
Replacement of Septic Disposal System
The City of Gardiner, Maine is seeking bids proposals from qualified contractors for the replacement of a residential septic disposal system located at 33 Costello Road in Gardiner. It has been determined that the existing septic system has malfunctioned and become a menace to the public health. The new system will be installed, per the approved subsurface design permit on file. Access to the project will be provided, and may require minimal use of an abutting property. The access area, including any of the abutting property, will be restored to its original condition. Contractors shall provide a time table for construction as well as proof of general liability insurance. Work shall begin no sooner than October 3rd and no later than November 15th. The winning bid shall
also include a plan to prevent septic tank overfilling for the duration of the project, as the residence at 33 Costello is currently occupied. Please include an alternate bid that includes the cost of tank replacement (label as Alternate A). The need for tank replacement will be determined upon further inspection.
Sealed Cost Proposals must be clearly marked: “Septic Disposal System Project”. Completed proposals must be delivered by 1:00 PM on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 to:

Submittals delivered after the deadline will not be considered. There will be a mandatory pre-bid meeting held on-site at 33 Costello Rd at 1 PM on Tuesday, September 30th. The City of Gardiner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and negotiate the final scope of each project.
