GRANT AWARD ANNOUNCED
The Gardiner Library Association is pleased to announce that it is a recipient of a grant from the Davis Family Foundation. The $25,000 award will be used for the association’s Phase II Capital Campaign: the renovation of the first floor. With this grant, the library hopes to begin renovations next fall. Plans include installing a central air system, removal of a dropped ceiling, rehabilitation of some unique architectural detail as well as the replacement of rugs, lighting and book stacks. The estimated cost for all renovations of the main floor is $100,000. The Gardiner Library Association is also a 2008 recipient of a $21,000 New Century Construction/Renovation Grant. Recent fund-raising events have included book, bake, and craft sales,
auctions and special programming in an effort to reach our goals. Any donations made to the Gardiner Library Association are tax deductible and certainly welcomed! Please call 207-582-3312 for further information.
The Gardiner Library Association is a non-profit agency that owns and maintains the historic Gardiner Public Library building. The 128-year-old structure continues to be one of the busiest libraries in Maine and serves the towns of Gardiner, Litchfield, Pittston, Randolph, and West Gardiner.
The members of the Gardiner Library Association, the staff of the Gardiner Public Library and our whole library community wish to thank the Davis Family Foundation for its generous grant.
