Our next Warm-up Wednesdays Movie Event is scheduled for Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 2:30pm. This week our featured film is Miracle at Morgan's Creek. In this 1944 classic screwball comedy (now part of the National Film Registry) by Preston Sturges, Trudy Kockenlocker (played by Betty Hutton) goes to a party, has too much to drink, and wakes up the next morning with a ring on her finger, no husband in sight, and - unknown to her at that moment – pregnant. She tries to avoid scandal by marrying a local
schmuck played by Eddie Bracken. How this crazy comedy ever passed the censors at the time is still a mystery!
