MDOT Message Re: I-295 Construction
A message from Maine DOT:

Additional  I-295 Construction Activity Between Brunswick and Gardiner
Mainedot advises lane closures on i-295 between brunswick and Gardiner

Work to Begin on Thursday, April 9th

Motorists are advised to consider alternate routes or carpooling, especially during peak commuting times.

Beginning on Thursday April 9th through May, the travel lane of I-295 Northbound will be closed from the town line between Richmond and Gardiner to the Exit 49 on-ramp in Gardiner.  Also starting on April 9th, guardrail work will begin south of the Beedle Rd overpass and continue north of the Exit 31 off ramp on the southbound lanes. The subsequent lane closure, which may be up to 2 miles in length, will be moved south as the work progresses and will last approximately two weeks. This lane closure will begin at around 6am and will be finished at around 7pm with roads open for nighttime travel.  During this time, work will also be done on the exit 43 on and off ramps as well as the exit 37 on ramp.  All ramps will be accessible to traffic during this time.

The current passing lane closure on I-295 Northbound in Brunswick and Topsham has been expanded to begin just north of the Exit 28 on-ramp and extend to the Cathance Bridge.

We regret any inconvenience this construction activity may cause and urge you to allow extra time or seek an alternate route.
