The City of Gardiner will accept bids for up to 2,500 cubic yards of Winter Sand.~ Sealed bids will be accepted up to 1pm, Friday November 13, 2009 at the office of the City Manager, 6 Church Street, Gardiner, Maine, 04345 at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
All bids shall addressed to the Wastewater and Public Works Director in an envelope clearly marked “Winter Sand Bid” in the lower left hand corner of the envelope. Prior to the date and time specified for the bid opening.~ Bids will not be accepted after the above stated time and date.~ Telephone or facsimile bids will not be accepted.
The Contractor shall be responsible for providing all the necessary equipment for trucking the winter sand to a pile at the City Garage.
Cost proposals shall be submitted on a cubic yard basis.
Work shall be started after November 13, 2009 and be completed by November 24, 2009.
By submitting a bid according to these specifications, and/or upon this invitation to bid. The bidder specifically agrees that the City of Gardiner shall have the right to accept or reject any bids for any reason whatsoever and to accept alternatives to the specifications, whenever in the City, in their sole and absolute discretion, deem it in the best interest of the City of Gardiner to do so.
