C ITY OF GARDINER, MAINE
“Study to maximize Gardiner’s Wet Weather System”
The City of Gardiner, Maine is requesting engineering services related to improving the operations of the terminus manhole, River Road interceptor, River Road relief interceptor, Rolling Dam Brook emergency overflow structure, screw pump wetwell and CSO pump station wetwell during high flow events.
During high flow events when both the interceptor and relief interceptor are being utilized to the maximum capacity different situations occasionally occur (depending on storm conditions) that prevent full loading of the treatment plant due to screw pump wetwell levels, loss of small volumes of wastewater out Emergency Overflow 002 and pressurizing of the interceptor that sometimes cause loss of wastewater around low lying manholes on Route 24.
As part of the evaluation the selected firm will provide prioritized modifications and estimated construction cost to implement each alternative. Both operational and physical modifications should be explored.
