The City of Gardiner would like to remind hunters of an ordinance restricting the discharge of firearms in certain areas of the city. The map of restricted areas is attached.
Within the “Restricted Areas”:
Generally speaking, there shall be no discharging of firearms
within the “Restricted Areas”.
Outside the “Restricted Areas”
Discharging of firearms outside the restricted areas is permitted
under the following conditions:
1. Yearly date written permission of landowner must be obtained
and on your person.
2. No discharging a firearm or causing a projectile to pass:
A. Within 400 feet of any dwelling, structure, etc.
B. Within 500 feet of school property
C. Across a paved road
D. At a domestic animal, bird or pet
E. Proper I.D. must be presented upon request of
landowner
Personal Target Ranges:
Personal Target Ranges outside the “Restricted Areas” as
approved by the Chief of Police.
