Records Collection Grant award
The Gardiner Public Library received a Records Collection Grant from the Maine State Archives to purchase cataloging software for the Community Archives Room. The grant totaled $870.00 and the staff will purchase PastPerfect Software. This software allows the library to catalog non-standard historical items such as diaries, photographs, maps, etc. With this capability, researchers can review the collection without having to come to the library.
The Gardiner Library Association has also opened Book It!, -a bookstore in downtown Gardiner that is dedicated to raising funds for the final phase of the interior restoration.
