Flooding concerns
Due to the significant amount of rain that has fallen we in Gardiner all must pay very close attention to the water levels of the Kennebec river at the Gardiner Waterfront and along Cobbossee Stream as it pertains to the Arcade Lot area.

The next high tide is at 3 pm today. Flooding is expected.

The Gardiner Waterfront will be closed off to motorists once the water level starts to flood the roadway.

Arcade Street and the arcade lot will be closed when and if the water starts to flood the roadway. If you park in the Arcade parking lot pay close attention to the water levels throughout the next 24 hours. It may be unsafe to leave your vehicle in the Arcade parking lot. If the water level reaches the parking area in the Arcade lot, you should move your vehicle immediately. Vehicles may get towed if the water gets too high but we wil only do that as a last resort, As a result of the flooding possibility, the City will allow you to park your vehicle on Water St. without the usual time constraints.

The bridges on Main Ave and by Dennis' Pizza may be closed by DOT if they feel the water is running too fast. If that occurs, plan your alternate route accordingly.

The Marston Road has areas of flooding so please drive with extreme caution and avoid that area if possible.

A weather warning indicates a confirmed, current and present danger to this area.

Take necessary safety precautions.

Other alerts will be sent out as needed.
Instructions:
Stay away from the high water.
