The City of Gardiner seeks proposals for timber harvesting and forest management at the Libby Hill Business Park (Libby Hill), located on I-295 Exit 49 in Gardiner. Libby Hill is a premier central Maine business destination, and the City is actively promoting Libby Hill through representation by the Fontaine Team – The Real Estate Leader of Auburn, Maine. Gardiner seeks to increase the profile and curb appeal of the Libby Hill commercial properties through a timber harvesting and forest management
The existing forestland on the Libby Hill campus will be thinned to expose the value and potential for development of the lots, and will be performed with emphasis on aesthetics and visual appeal, as well as careful preservation of the roads, bridges, and other improvements. The timber harvesting will also be performed to meet standards required to preserve the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP)-designated wetlands and sedimentation and erosion control features in the business park.
A long-term forest management plan will be provided as part of the proposal, and will detail a longer-term plan for maintenance and upkeep of the forested and buffer zone areas at Libby Hill, as well as projections for future timber harvests that will be necessary for healthy tree growth and best practices for preservation of the wetlands and buffer zones.
