Grant awarded to library

Anne Davis, Director of Library and Information Services for the City of Gardiner, is pleased to announce that the Gardiner Library Association has received a donation of $500.00 from the employees of Spectra Energy and Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline to help defray the costs of renovating the Community Archives Room. Davis states, “I am so pleased to know that the employees of this company think so highly of the Gardiner Public Library and all that it does to preserve the local history of the lower Kennebec Valley.  It is a precious collection that includes family histories, architectural histories as well as some very rare diaries, maps and other ephemera related to our shared history.”

The library serves the municipalities of Gardiner, West Gardiner, Litchfield, Pittston and Randolph.  If you are interested in hearing about the renovation plans for the Community Archives Room please contact Anne Davis at 582-3312.
