Ancestry.com Workshops & Genealogy Meet-Ups This Winter
Winter is a perfect time to get started on (or re-start!) researching your family history and genealogy. Have you been interested in trying out Ancestry.com but not sure how to begin? Or perhaps stuck in a research rut and needing some fresh ideas? Join us at the Gardiner Public Library’s Community Archives Room for basic workshops on Ancestry.com and Genealogy Meet-Ups this winter.
To enhance its free access to Ancestry.com Library Edition, Gardiner Public Library is offering free introductory workshops on the amazing online database service, as well as a series of Meet-Up sessions for folks to get together, share strategies, and make great progress on their family research.
Sign up for one of two Ancestry.com Introductory Workshops:
Tuesday, January 8th from 5PM – 7PM or Thursday, January 10th from 11AM-1PM.
And mark your calendars for our Meet-Ups:
Tuesdays, Jan. 22, Feb. 5 & 19 from 5PM – 7PM
Thursdays, Jan. 24, Feb. 7 & 21 from 11AM-1PM
Feel free to sign up to use one of our four laptops available -- or bring your own laptop or tablet to access our free Wi-Fi and Ancestry.com Library Edition. Whether you are just getting started or an old pro, we’ll help you jump right in.
Space is limited for the Ancestry.com Workshops, so sign up now!
Please call 582-6890 or 582-3312 to reserve your spot.
We also recommend calling ahead if you need to reserve a laptop for the Meet-Ups; if you are bringing your own, feel free to drop in and stay as long you’d like!
Of course you needn’t wait -- the Community Archives Room is open Tuesdays – Fridays during most regular library hours. The library is located at 152 Water Street in Gardiner. Check our website for more information:
