Displaying our Grandmothers’ Handwork
Plan on attending this unique program at the Gardiner Public Library on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 11AM in the library’s Hazzard Reading Room.
Carolee Fields Withee will give you wonderful ideas on what to do with family heirlooms. Most people have inherited embroidered bureau scarves and crocheted doilies made by their grandmothers; and they just sit in the drawer year after year. This program offers examples of wall hangings which will encourage one to take those handmade pieces out of the drawers and put them on the walls where the family can appreciate them. During the presentation Carolee explains the techniques used and discuss the process of designing and completing each piece.
In addition to showing 20 original designs in wall hangings, she will sing several humorous songs she wrote based on her quilting experiences.
The Gardiner Public Library is located at 152 Water Street, Gardiner. For more information call 582-3312.
