Meet your State Representative
The staff of the Gardiner Public Library is pleased to host another constituent gathering with Gardiner and Randolph’s State Representative Gay Grant, who represents Maine House District 59 that includes the municipalities of Gardiner and Randolph. Please plan to join her on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 from 5:30PM-7PM in the Hazzard Reading Room.
Grant is a small business owner and works with non-profit organizations, schools and small businesses across Maine, helping them to secure funding for projects vital to Maine people. She serves on the Board of Trustees of the Gardiner Public Library, is a Trustee of the Transfiguration Hermitage in Windsor, serves on the Board of the Friends of the Maine State Museum, and on the Board of Advisors of Bread of Life Ministries. She is also a professional singer, performing in a jazz quartet with her husband, drummer Ron Grant, called “Generations.”
Grant said she is pleased that she served on the legislature’s Environment and Natural Resources Committee, given the importance of the Kennebec River and other natural resources to the region’s economy and quality of life.
“People need jobs that pay a livable wage,” Grant said. “In order to grow the economy we need to focus on education, for our children and young people, and for adults who must upgrade their skills for this competitive global economy. We also need to do a better job marketing Maine as a great place to live and do business.”
The library is located at 152 Water Street, Gardiner. For more information, please call 207-582-3312.
