The City of Gardiner is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a FT (37.5 hours/week) Public Safety/Finance Administrative Assistant.~ This confidential and highly responsible position performs a variety of administrative functions for the Police and Fire Chiefs, including preparing reports and correspondence, maintaining department finances and personnel records, assisting in procurement of supplies and materials, handling inquiries/complaints/requests from the public, and overseeing the ambulance billing program.~ This position also performs skilled financial duties under the supervision of the Finance Director, including payroll, accounts payable, and journal entries.~ Candidates should have minimum five years’ experience in executive secretarial work, thorough knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, experience with computers including Microsoft Office and financial software (preferably TRIO), and be able to work effectively with the public and other employees.~ Must be able to pass extensive background check.
