Library program
Daughters of the American Revolution
The library staff is happy to host the Samuel Grant-Mary Kelton Dummer Chapter DAR of Gardiner-Hallowell.  The organization will hold its monthly chapter meeting at the Gardiner Public Library at 10:00am on Saturday, November 8, 2014.  All meetings are open to the public - DAR is always looking for new members!

The guest speaker will be Emily Schroeder who has worked at the Maine State Library for many years.  In 2007, she added genealogy to her job duties. She answers individual queries, conducts workshops and individual research consultations, in addition to holding classes within the State Library and elsewhere (Adult Education and Senior College, in particular).  Emily serves on the boards of Kennebec Historical Society, where she is Secretary, and the Maine Genealogical Society.

Emily will speak about genealogy and available resources for research.  This program is free and opened to the public.  The library is located at 152 Water Street.
