Farewell party
Gardiner, Maine:
After 7 years as Gardiner’s City Manager, Scott Morelli will be leaving this position to become the new City Manager of South Portland.  Gardiner’s Department Heads will be hosting a community farewell party on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 1pm-2:30pm in the Hazzard Room of the Gardiner Public Library.  Please plan on joining this open house event and take time to thank Scott for his tenure in Gardiner and to wish him well in South Portland.  The event will end with remarks from Gardiner City Mayor Thom Harnett and light refreshments and drinks will be offered.

As City Manager, Scott Morelli brought fresh ideas and great enthusiasm to our community and brought a new vitality to City Hall and to Gardiner.  During his tenure, Mr. Morelli streamlined city staff so that tax payers were not forced to bear the brunt of lost revenue when the State Revenue Sharing Program was reduced.  He was a driving force in acquiring the blighted T.W. Dick properties and we look forward to that abandoned property being rejuvenated with new businesses and  housing.  He is an unfailing advocate for the Cobbossee Trail project that will create some great green space in our urban setting.  He supervised a level of city services study that reviewed how city services are delivered to Gardiner residents.  He will be missed by his staff, by his Gardiner friends and by our residents.

Please plan on attending this farewell event to thank Scott for his seven years of service.  This event is free and opened to the public.  The Gardiner Public Library is located at 152 Water Street and for more information, please call Anne Davis at 207-582-6893.
