Mission Statement
"The mission of the Committee is to restore, protect and beautify Gardiner's publicly owned spaces by partnering with other groups, working with City Departments and enlisting volunteers. Through cooperation with land owners, we hope to encourage these same goals on private property. We want to create opportunities for all citizens to learn about, access and enjoy our beautiful natural enviroment."
We meet the first Wednesday of each month at 8:30 a.m in the Council Room at City Hall. Any member of the public is invited to attend our meetings. If you would like to volunteer to help with any of our projects,(i.e. planting flowers, clearing brush, ect.) please contact any Committee member.
In the spring, the Gardiner Conservation Committee planted potatoes and squash in their holding garden. The garden produced over 200 pounds of potatoes and 200 pounds of squash. The committee harvested these vegetables in September and donated them to Gardiner’s food bank, Chrysalis Place, 576 Brunswick Avenue.
