The Recycling Advisory Committee's purpose is to support and assist the Gardiner City Council in its efforts to improve recycling in our community.
"WHAT'S NEW"
The committee intends to:
Review the final report of the regional recycling study committee that was established in 2007 pursuant to a state grant
On behalf of the city, participate in exploring improved recycling on a cooperative, regional basis
Develop and implement an education campaign about the importance of improving recycling in Gardiner and the options available
Assist the City Council in soliciting public input regarding how best to improve recycling in the city
Draft a set of short-term and long-term recommendations for a plan to improve recycling in Gardiner, for consideration by the City Council
Assist the city in implementing the plan
Provide periodic progress reports to the City Council
Keep residents and businesses informed about the plan and its progress

The Recycling Advisory Committee encourages all Gardiner residents who have an interest in improved recycling to participate in the committee's efforts. We have established a distribution list for folks who want to be notified of special events, specific requests for help, etc. If you would like to be on the list, please send your request to kmtucker1@gmail.com.
