Section 1933. Membership.
Membership shall be as follows:
(A) Except as hereinafter provided the membership of the committee shall be six members, who shall be residents of the city.
(B) The term of office will be for three years on a staggered basis. The terms of the original appointed members will be as follows: two members for a one-year term, two members for a two-year term, and two members for a three-year term. All terms shall start March 1, 1972.
(C) Each year, thereafter, in the month of January, the mayor and the city council shall meet and appoint new members for the term of three years to succeed the outgoing members.
(D) In the event of the resignation of any committee member, or his death, inability to serve, or absence without acceptable reasons from three regular consecutive meetings, his seat shall remain vacant until the following regular city council meeting, at which time the mayor with the advice and consent of the city council shall appoint a member to finish any unexpired term that might remain.
(E) The city manager and a member of the council, appointed by the mayor by the consent of the council, shall be ex-officio members.
(F) In the event that another community joins into our recreation program, or any phase of it, and provides financial support to our recreation program, or any phase of it, the mayor, with the advice and consent of the city council of Gardiner may appoint one person from said joining community to serve on this committee in addition to the six members from Gardiner. The term of said member from the joining community shall be one year commencing March first, said term shall be subject to the provisions of paragraph (D) of this section, and in addition thereto, said term shall immediately terminate upon the withdrawal of said joining community from our recreation program.
