The Committee discussed the proposed commercial/Industrial performance standards for all non-residential areas within the entire City except in the PIC district. Rich suggested that there needs to be some language added that says, "where permitted in a number of places in the new Ordinance.

It was mentioned that there might be some opposition to some of the requirements for buffers, roofs and other exterior standards on commercial buildings, but this would be an opportunity for contractors to come up with some unique ideas instead of just putting a box out there.

It was decided to remove yellow as a color permitted for non-residential buildings.

The sign ordinance was discussed with respect to the various districts.  There are three proposed areas where the sign ordinance standards might differ: 1) Historic Preservation District;  2) Downtown District;  and 3) all other areas.  It was decided to add to 3.19 (a) where permitted.

Committee members discussed differences between service type businesses and professional businesses.

Rich Rothe is putting together a composite showing property lines within the proposed districts to be used as a general reference.
