Discuss proposal from The Newark Group Inc.
The Committee discussed a proposal from The Newark Group to negotiate for a property they are considering the disposition of.  Taking ownership of an old industrial property may bring significant costs and environmental liabilities.  It was noted that when the Manson & Church building was up for sale, the City was very fortunate the Board of Trade purchased it and held it until re-selling it to an owner with enough financial resources to restore it to an attractive state as a gateway building.  Few details were available on the costs and liabilities that may be associated with the proposal.  It was agreed to table the discussion until the next meeting when more information should be available.

Schedule Next Meeting
The next meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, September 9 at 8:00 a.m. at Gardiner City Hall.
