Community Gateways
gateway2.jpgHere you can see an artist's rendering of the new Community Gateway signs.  The DRC (Downtown Revitalization Committee) Community Gateway Sub-Committee was charged with making the final selection of work to be performed on them.

Mark Felder of the Sign Shop in Gardiner came in with the low bid.  Each sign will be a 2" thick 4' X 6' solid cedar sign with granite posts.  The total cost per sign will be $1,962.50, plus the cost associated with landscaping and lighting.  Each sign will be guaranteed for five years.

Initially two signs have been ordered.  The Gardiner Public Works Department will address installation of them: one on Route 126 by the Winery Building and the other near the intersection at the Gardiner-Randolph Bridge.  Landscaping and lighting will be added as conditions permit.

The remaining two signs will be installed as funding becomes available from MDOT.  One of the remaining signs will be placed by the restored rail shed owned by Jeff & Eva Cole as you approach from South Gardiner; the other will be located on Brunswick Avenue near Mattson Heights.
