1. Maine State Housing Authority (MSHA)
HQS FedHome Rehab Program - A comprehensive rehab program for households less than or equal to 80% AMI to bring the house up to HUD Housing Quality Standards. Mostly used for lead paint mitigation.
Elderly Hardship Grants Program - Must be 62 years of age or older. For low income sincle family households at or below 80% AMI. For needed repairs or accessibility modifications. Grant maximum is $5,000.
Home Replacement Program - Certain restrictions apply.
Septic Repair & Replacement Program - 1% Loan with 15 year term.
Canton Flood Project - Helps families relocate their home out of the flood zone. Can be used to help buy an exisiting home or to build a new home.

Programs for Individuals with Mental and/or Physical Disability
Options Include:
mPower Program - Maine residents can borrow up to $100,000 for the purchase of equiment, home renovations, or technologies needed to achieve greater independence and productivity. Examples of adaptive solutions include wheelchairs, hearing aids, computer technology, TTY's, assistive animals, prosthetics, new home access features, ramps, recreational equipment, adaptive toys, home modifications, orthotics, adapted vehicles, stair lifts, large print readers, and more.
Home Retro - Provides up to $15,000 to qualifying homeowners for home modifications. Accepted grant funds include widening doorways, adding a roll-in shower and fold down seat, building a ramp, remodeling a kitchen, bathroom or bedroom, repairing a roof, or replacing windows.
Title 7, Part B - Financial assistance to help homeowners address home accessibility, self-care, participation in community activities, and health and disability management.
