Manson & Church Building Restoration
stack5.jpgThe Manson and Church building is a great example of how a team of committed individuals and organizations united for a common purpose can create amazing success from sheer adversity.  After years of neglect and disinvestment, the Manson and Church building had fallen into a state of disrepair.  Owners Jeff and Eva Cole, the Gardiner Board of Trade, and the City of Gardiner were able to undertake a massive restoration and rehabilitation project with the help of $60,000 CDBG grant funds from the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development.

On July 5, 2002, Blue Marble Geographics (see Links) officially moved in to their new office space on the upper floors of the Manson & Church Building. The storefront was finished in late summer, and "fit-up" for the A-1 Diner's "A1 To Go" project commenced in the fall.   Moda Bella, the women's clothing store, opened in the downstairs space next to A1 To Go in Fall 2003.

The City is very pleased with the way this project has turned out.  Jeff and Eva Cole have been wonderful to work with, and should be congratulated for a job well-done.
