 Here you can see a diagram showing what the new streetlights look like. They were selected with the concurrence of the Historic Preservation Commission after a review of old photographs and City records determined that this combination of lighting fixture and pole meets requirements for historical consistency. The old streetlights were difficult to repair because the company that made them went out of business, making it nearly impossible to obtain replacements for worn and broken parts. The components for the new streetlights were shipped in mid-August and installed with the help of the Gardiner Public Works Department right after Labor Day 2002. | |
