Based on the City's TIF policy, the Economic and Community Development Department will advise applicants on its findings following a review of this application by City staff, the Economic Development Committee and City Council. Successful applicants will be required to prepare and submit a formal application in accordance with the applicable statue and Maine Department of Economic and Community Development requirements.
All applicants are required to pay a $500 non-refundable application fee when submitting a preliminary application. If the application is approved, an annual administrative fee of 1% of the incremental taxes reallocated to the project will be charged.
All applicants will be required to sign a Legal Fee Consent form agreeing to reimburse the City for all legal costs incurred as result of the application, regardless of the application's approval. Additionally, out of pocket expenses incurred by the City in relation to this application will be reimbursed.
