Welcome to the City of Gardiner’s waterfront project update pages. As of December 1st 2006, Phase I of the project is nearly complete and is way ahead of the June 2007 construction completion date. The new timber boardwalk already features over 500 lineal feet of walking area complete with railing, ADA fishing platforms, gates, and emergency access points. The Waterfront Committee, City Council and city staff all worked hard over the years to make this exciting project a reality.
As the project continues, pictures will be posted to this website. The City’s contractor, Reed & Reed, mobilized to the site after the 4th of July and began building sections of new timber crib. New crib sections will provide shoreline stabilization and as well as a foundation for over 500 feet of new timber boardwalk area.
The project will be a great asset for the community and region. Other phases, such as a landscaped park area, are to be built when more grant funds are obtained.
