New England Management Institute
I attended the Maine Town and City Management Association Annual New England Management Institute August 29, 30, 31. This is a premiere educational opportunity for the profession. Recently the Institute has been organized around a major track or theme, rather than individual sessions. This allows a deep and meaningful approach to management issues. This year Auburn Mayor (and previous Lewiston mayor) John Jenkins led us through an exploration of leadership styles, challenges and successes. Jenkins' “day job” is President/Founder of PepTalk (Personal Enrichment Programs) and HealthKick USA (Total Wellness Programs). His unique background led to a really outstanding learning experience.
FY 08 Goals
We have succeeded in prioritizing goals. This year’s goal statement is one of our most ambitious, and to help manage the challenges goals have been split into three tiers of priority. The prioritized goal statement is included in the packet.
