Library
The Gardiner Library Association has received a grant for $13,500.00 from the J. Walter Robinson Welfare Trust. $5,000 will be dedicated to our Community Archives Room so that we can begin to purchase archival materials and make better use of the space downstairs. 8,500 will be used to upgrade the lighting plan in the Hazzard Reading Room by adding some track lighting to augment the lights currently in that room.
Also received recently is a donation of approximately $2,400 to purchase custom shades in that room. These shades will be very useful when programming in the room requires blocking out the sunlight. They are also used for heat retention during this very cold winter. This wonderful donation was made by a member of the Hazzard family.
Council Schedule
We are currently planning to meet on January 16th and 23rd.
City Staff
Chuck Applebee has assumed his role as President of the Maine Wastewater Association for the 2008 term. Chuck has been an officer of the Association for three years and joins a significant number of his Gardiner colleagues who have served in leadership positions outside of the City. Congratulations Chuck!
