CITY MANAGER’S OFFICE

DATE:   January 8, 2010
RE:     Weekly Memo

UPCOMING MEETINGS
Next week's meeting agenda
Next Week's City Meetings are available on our Calendar

Now that the holidays are all over and the decorations have all been put away, we have some long winter evenings ahead of us.  Why not come to Gardiner City Hall on Wednesday, January 13th at 7:30PM to celebrate the inauguration of our new city councilors?

City Clerk Deirdre Berglund will be swearing in 3 residents who are new to Gardiner City Council as well as a seasoned councilor who has been serving his community for more than 20 years.  We will also be saying goodbye to 3 councilors who chose to not seek re-election and will be returning to the private sector.

Phil Hart will remain the councilor for District 4 and will begin his new tenure after the ceremonies.  Christopher Leake will be sworn in as the new District 1 representative and he will be replacing Councilor Richard Nickless.  District 2 will be ably represented by Lisa Liberatore as we say goodbye to Councilor Richard Rambo.  Michael Giberson will be stepping down from public office and Gregory Thompson will represent District 3.  Of course, we all know we can visit with our outgoing councilors because they will remain in our community.  How many times have we visited the A-1 Diner and been given a warm greeting by our outgoing District 3 councilor?

I hope that our Gardiner residents will join Mayor Andrew MacLean, Gardiner City Councilors and the City of Gardiner staff as we thank our elected leaders for their dedication to our community and say goodbye to some old friends.
