Public Works

What a difference a week makes! A week ago the crew was exhausted and we were struggling to catch up on very routine snow removal tasks, and this week we hardly have anything but dirty snow banks left.

Our new International plow truck is in service. We have deviated from our many years of GMC products after a very complete evaluation by the Public Works staff and the reviews are very positive. The truck gives us dramatic new flexibility in operations in the present and fosters significant efficiencies in fleet/equipment replacement in the long term as we plan to hold on the truck longer.

Library

Anne Davis reports that the construction in the Children’s Room is moving along quite nicely and on schedule. The vaulted ceiling that has been hidden by a suspended ceiling, will be spectacular and the new heating and cooling systems very much appreciated by patrons. We are hoping for a mid March completion.
