Below please find an update on recent City activities:
- Due to the snowstorm, the inauguration of new City Councilor Scott Williams has been postponed until 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2011. The inauguration will be followed by an executive session at 6 p.m. and a regular business meeting at 7 p.m.
- I would like to thank our Public Works crew for doing a great job with plowing and snow removal after this week’s storm. We received many compliments as to how well the roads were maintained and cleared both during and after the snow event.
- The City has implemented a new notification system to alert residents of various events in Gardiner, such as parking bans or flood warnings. The system, known as NIXLE, can send emails or text alerts to your cell phone and it is free to both the City and residents/business owners. Visit our website for more information and instructions on how to sign up for this alert system.
- Congratulations to Andrew Santheson of our Fire/Rescue Department for passing his test and becoming a Paramedic!
- Gardiner Main Street’s annual meeting will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Monkitree. The public is welcome to attend this event. Contact GMS for more information.
- A reminder that City Hall will be closed on Monday, January 17, 2011 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
