RE:~~~~~Weekly Memo
UPCOMING MEETINGS
Next Week's City Meetings are available on our Calendar
Below please find an update on recent City activities:
- A reminder that bids are due on March 1, 2011 for the foreclosed property at 18 Dennis Street. More information can be found by clicking here
- Next Thursday I will be attending a meeting hosted by the Kennebec Valley Council of Governments regarding a proposed natural gas transmission line/distribution lines running from Richmond to Madison. The proposed line would run on the west side of the Kennebec River and span 12 municipalities, including Gardiner. Kennebec Valley Natural Gas will be present at this meeting to further discuss their proposal with municipal officials. I will provide the Council with updated information on this proposed project shortly after this meeting occurs
- As noted to you in a previous email, the Legislature will be holding a hearing on March 1 at 1 p.m. in Room 228 at the State House concerning municipal revenue sharing. As you know, the Governor has proposed changing the way these funds are appropriated, making local aid less stable and more subject to the whims of the legislature. I will be unable to attend this hearing due to previous meeting conflicts but I encourage those from the Council who can attend to do so.
As always, I appreciate the opportunity to serve the people of Gardiner as City Manager.
