MSAD 11

Governor Baldacci announced his reductions in the State budget earlier this week. Approximately $190 million need to be found for the budget that ends June 2009. General Purposed Aid to education (GPA) has been reduced and this will impact MSAD 11. Member municipalities will be invited to meet with the School Board April 3 to discuss the FY 09 school budget.

Spring

Although winter is still gripping us tightly, the Riverflow Advisory Commission has met and weekly snowpack monitoring has begun.  Locally, a letter to property owners in flood prone areas went out this week and is in the packet. We will watch reports from the Riverflow Advisory group very closely until the above average snowpack in the upper Kennebec watershed has dissipated. There are many very interesting and useful tools for river flow and flood information linked to the Emergency Management page at www.gardinermaine.com
