UPCOMING MEETINGS
For Next Week's City Meetings are available on our Calendar
Open House/Facilities Tour
On Saturday, April 5 we will host a public, city-wide open house. Concurrently, we will conduct a tour of City facilities for the Council. A schedule is enclosed in the packet. We will start at 9 am at the Boys and Girls Club and return there just after noon. In between we will tour all City services including Library, Fire, Police, City Hall, Library, Wastewater and Public Works. Councilors will ride in the unusual comfort of the Boys and Girls Club transport van, sip coffee or juice at various sites and be driven and looked after by the City Manager. All while learning the operational details of various services and sites; that is quite a line-up for a Saturday morning in April.
Common Playground
At the conclusion of the good weather last fall, we determined the Common Playground had reached the end of its useful life and planned to remove it. However, winter arrived early and didn’t let up and the removal became a low priority. Now it is imperative that we get in and out of the Common before the ground unfreezes. You will likely see the playground removed very soon.
As part of the Bundled Projects, several planning meetings with substantial public input have been held. The development of a comprehensive plan for the Common, including playground replacement and location is well under way. At the conclusion of that planning process we can move toward systematically improving the Common, including the replacement of the playground.
