UPCOMING MEETINGS
Next Week's City Meetings are available on our Calendar
I had the opportunity to attend the Gardiner Board of Trade Annual Meeting/Awards presentation this past Wednesday, along with several members of the Council and some of our City staff. This meeting showcased some of the great businesses we have here in Gardiner. I would like to congratulate the following businesses for receiving a 2010 award from the Board of Trade: Dennison Lubricants, Maine Drilling and Blasting, Dr. Paul Pidgeon of Gardiner Family Chiropractic, Black Diamond Engineering, and the Savings Bank of Maine. I would also like to thank the event hosts, Amy Rees and Robert Lash, who held the meeting at their home on High Holborn Street, which was the former Central Street School building. It was amazing the see the investment and pride that Amy and Robert have taken in transforming this building into their home. Special
thanks is also due to our Planning & Development Director Jason Simcock, who works diligently with area businesses and helped to organize this year’s annual meeting.
I am pleased to announce that the Gardiner Fire Department has hired the first female firefighter in nearly 20 years. Meagan Breau started her duties on Monday, March 22 and is currently in the training process. Welcome Meagan!
I hope everyone gets a chance to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather this weekend and as always, I appreciate the opportunity to serve the people of Gardiner as City Manager.
