Budget Published
The FY 09 Budget has been published. As anticipated, this has been a very difficult budget to develop to date. We are experiencing the multiple convergences of:
a decade of consistent and significant annual budget constrictions
dramatic increases in fixed costs
decreases in revenue
Free Docks
Reggie Grant didn’t win a contest, or buy a winning ticket, or find a lucky shamrock, but he did get the City $10,000 of free docks! With his perseverance and good looks, Reggie has negotiated the replacement of our five finger docks on the waterfront by the Department of Conservation. These docks were in very bad shape, occupied substantial time and materials every year for repairs, and were at the end of their useful life. Thanks Reggie, you saved us at least $10,000 in replacement costs plus the aggravation and expense of fixing the old docks every spring!
