DATE:   May 28, 2010
RE:     Weekly Memo

UPCOMING MEETINGS
Next week's meeting agenda
Next Week's City Meetings are available on our Calendar

Below please find an update on recent City activities:

  • This past Tuesday, May 25 residents from the communities that are a part of MSAD/RSU #11 voted to increase the proposed school budget by $65,000, bringing the total school budget proposed for FY11 to approx. $21,296,480.  If passed by voters on June 8, 2010, this will result in an increased assessment of approx. $87,197 for Gardiner taxpayers over FY10, or about a $0.27 increase in the current mil rate.
  • With have signed the agreement with McGee Construction and they are beginning work on the waterfront project.  The project should be completed by the end of October.
  • I encourage everyone to attend the “Hogs, Pies, and Fireworks” event downtown tonight, starting at 6 p.m.  Should be great weather, great food, and a great show!
  • Also, don’t forget the Memorial Day parade, beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 31 at the Armory and ending at the Common.

As always, I appreciate the opportunity to serve the people of Gardiner as City Manager.
