UPCOMING MEETINGS
Next Week's City Council Meeting Agenda
Next Week's City Meetings are available on our Calendar
Council Meeting
We will meet on Wednesday at 6 pm. The agenda is focused upon budget items. On Thursday morning, immediately after the most recent Council meeting, Curt Lebel started looking at the new revaluation data in an effort to address questions that arose during budget adoption. We will compile comparative data to help gauge the impact of the revaluation over the entire spectrum of taxpayers. If Councilors have specific questions please email or call me so that we can do the research and provide the data on Wednesday. Should we satisfy concerns to the extent that we proceed to a first reading, it is possible we can adopt a budget before July 1.
Included in the packet are several slides addressing questions about results of the revaluation that were presented and discussed at the recent revaluation workshop. Although this information was presented as projections and subject to change at the time of the workshop, it has now become verified. As we started to receive the final data from Vision Appraisal, these projections were confirmed as valid, and are included in the packet to help address questions that came up at the most recent meeting.
Children’s Room
Do not forget that the Library staff and an army of volunteers have moved the Children’s Room back into the spectacularly renovated space for an opening celebration on Saturday.
Police
Willie Ellis has worked his last shift after 23 years with the Gardiner Police Department. Willie retired and went right back to work with the Hallowell Police Department. Ike Peppard has stepped into the Sergeant slot vacated by Wille.
