UPCOMING MEETINGS
Next Week's City Meetings are available on our Calendar
Even though the weather fails to cooperate, we are now into the summer season. For some people this means a time to kick back and relax. For Gardiner city staff and for our local contractors, this is our high construction season.
The Gardiner Planning Board approved two applications that will allow for some exciting projects to begin. The site plan amendment for the waterfront received approval. We are on our way! We will soon begin the bidding documents process. Imagine how beautiful this space will be next July. We should all extend a huge thank you to all the people who have been involved in this process.
The Planning Board also approved an application from Mr. P’s Car Wash. Many people have noticed the work being done on Brunswick Avenue. With this application approval, Tom and James Purington will be able to complete the construction. I hope everyone will join me in wishing “good luck” to this new business venture.
Please remember that Gardiner City Hall will be closed on Friday, July 3rd and that the Gardiner Public Library will also be closed on Saturday, July 4th so that our city staff may enjoy the Fourth of July with their families and kick off their own summer plans.
Happy Fourth of July to all of the Gardiner Community…celebrate by taking a walk on the Kennebec Rail Trail, shopping in our beautiful downtown, kayaking in the Kennebec River, or enjoying a picnic along its shores. It seems like we wait for ten long months for the summer season to begin, let’s not waste an hour of it!
