Council Schedule
We will meet next week to finish the budget cycle with second readings and other financial housekeeping items and then again on the 30th to catch up on unfinished business such as the FY 09 Goal Statement and Common Master Plan.
Finance Action Plan
We are starting implementation of our finance action plan. The position of bookkeeper has been posted. The revised job descriptions of bookkeeper and finance director reflect a strong segregation of duties, as advised by our auditor and finance director. Creation of an audit committee will appear on an upcoming Council agenda. Department heads have recently participated in some online Unifund training and in conjunction with training for a new bookkeeper, we will organize some focused Unifund training sessions.
During this interim period of time Kathy Cutler has stepped into the finance department with hardly an extra breath and has done an incredible job keeping us straight and level in a time of particular difficulty. Thank you Kathy, we really appreciate your super-dee-duper effort! (And my apologies to Barney the purple dinosaur.)
State Valuation
There has been considerable interest in state valuation. Below is a table of state/local values.
