CITY MANAGER’S OFFICE
WEEKLY MEMORANDUM

TO:     Mayor MacLean, Councilors and Department Heads
FROM:   Jeffrey Kobrock, City Manager
DATE:   August 31,2007
RE:     Weekly Memo

Upcoming Meetings
City Council Meeting, Wednesday, September 5, 2007, City Council Room, 7 p.m.

Palmer Fountain
Under the direction of Chuck Applebee and with the kind assistance of Paul Gray from the Water District, significant time and energy has been spent on rehabilitating the Palmer Fountain in the Common. Soon, we will give it a try and see if current Yankee ingenuity is any more successful than past Yankee ingenuity. The fountain was turned off quite some time ago after patience and budgets had been exhausted keeping it operational.

Sidewalk Project
After appointment in July, the Sidewalk Committee has had two meetings. The group is working hard to develop criteria and parameters for the major sidewalk rehabilitation project funded in the FY 08 budget and a long-term vision for pedestrian linkages.
