Winter Preparations
As a follow up to last winter’s discussion about snow removal in the Arcade Lot, a number of outreach elements are being employed to alert the public. Our Police Chief has strolled the Downtown area to speak with businesses and leave notices for tenants, notices have been mailed to property owners and Gardiner Main Street has been enlisted to do outreach. Notices will be placed on cars as well. When snow removal is imminent, the media will be alerted and signage placed in the lot itself. We have tried very hard to design a program that is as user-friendly as possible.
We have also dusted off the closure procedures for non essential services. The City Manager has the authority to close non essential services when the safety of City employees is at risk. This involves substantial dissemination via the media for both the public convenience as well that of employees.
Revaluation
The Vision team is heavily involved in visiting the properties that they have not yet been able to access. Several weeks of appointments with property owners are scheduled. After data collection, the next phase will support the beginning of actual calculation of values.
