TO: Mayor MacLean, Members of the City Council, and Department Heads
FROM: Scott Morelli, City Manager
DATE: November 5, 2010
RE: Weekly Memo
UPCOMING MEETINGS
Next Week's City Meetings are available on our Calendar
Below please find an update on recent City activities:
- A reminder that on November 1, 2010, the City’s winter parking ban went in to effect. This ordinance states that “no person shall leave or park any vehicle of which he/she has charge or possession, or permit the same to stand on any street, highway, square or thoroughfare within the City of Gardiner, between the hours of 12 o'clock midnight and 6 o'clock in the morning during the months of November to April, both months inclusive.”
- This week City staff and members of the Historic Preservation Committee toured the City-owned house on Dennis Street. After seeing the state of the foundation, we have agreed that hiring a structural engineer to analyze the foundation and drainage issues is the best course of action prior to making a recommendation to the Council. We expect the results from the analysis at the end of the month and hope to return to the Council with a recommendation at your December 1, 2010 meeting.
- The Holiday Parade and tree lighting will take place on Saturday, December 4, 2010. The parade will begin at 10 am and the tree lighting will occur at 6:30 pm. There will be caroling as well, beginning at 5:30 pm. For more information or to be a parade participant, please contact Gardiner Main Street at 582-3100 or info@gardinermainst.org.
As always, I appreciate the opportunity to serve the people of Gardiner as City Manager.
