CITY MANAGER’S OFFICE
WEEKLY MEMORANDUM

TO:     Mayor MacLean, Councilors and Department Heads
FROM:   Jeffrey Kobrock, City Manager
DATE:   November 23, 2007
RE:     Weekly Memo

UPCOMING MEETINGS
City Council Meeting, November 28, 2007, 7 p.m.

Council Schedule

We will meet November 28, December 5 and 12 in an effort to clean up business before the Holidays. And looking past the Holidays, please put January 2, 2008 on your calendars for Inauguration!

Sidewalk Committee

The sidewalk committee will soon have polished their recommendations for Council consideration. Chuck Applebee and intern Joe Grant have done a fabulous job researching and documenting our sidewalk inventory. The documents that have been generated are voluminous and will be an excellent planning tool for many years to come. The sidewalk committee has worked hard to develop and apply consistent criteria to the data yielding a very comprehensive inventory, placing the City in great place to continue upgrading sidewalks on a prioritized basis.

Caboose

Our unwelcome visitor of the past several years, the railroad caboose has been dismantled. The “restoration” plan was abandoned and the caboose was scraped. No hazardous materials were encountered and the remnants of the caboose will soon disappear.
