WEEKLY MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor MacLean, Members of the City Council, and Department Heads
FROM: Scott Morelli, City Manager
DATE: December 3, 2010
RE: Weekly Memo
UPCOMING MEETINGS
Next Week's City Meetings are available on our Calendar
Below please find an update on recent City activities:
- A reminder that there will be several holiday events this Saturday (tomorrow). Check out the holiday event page on Gardiner Main Street’s website for more details
- A special thanks to our Buildings and Grounds crew for setting up the holiday decorations in the downtown and for ensuring that the tree lighting event this past Wednesday was a success
- The Fire Department will be saying goodbye to their old ladder truck on Monday. They have contracted with a company in Connecticut to come and tow the truck to their auction lot. The Fire Chief believes this company gives the City the best chance of selling our 1981 ladder truck. It will be driven to Libby Hill Business Park on Monday morning where it will be placed on a tow. The chief is also working with area fire departments to dispose of some of the items that have been removed from the truck and still have some value.
- Councilor-elect Scott Williams was in for two days this week to get half hour briefings from each department so that he could have a bit more insight into City operations prior to being sworn in on January 12, 2010
As always, I appreciate the opportunity to serve the people of Gardiner as City Manager.
